Arrangements for
Amarnath Yatra - 2011 discussed by the Jammu & Kashmir State Administration in Jammu
Jammu, April 16- To discuss the arrangements related to Amarnath Yatra 2011, a meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner Jammu, here today.
The Divisional Commissioner discussed various matters with the Civil and Police administration with a view to ensuring timely arrangements for the ensuing Shri Amarnathji Yatra. He stressed the need for greater synergy and coordination between the Civil Administration, Police, Security Forces, Shrine Board authorities and each of the various concerned departments for ensuring that the required arrangements are in place well in time.
In the meeting all the aspects related to the Commencement of Yatra, Yatra Registration, Accommodation/ Transport for Sadhus, Entry/ Toll Tax for buses/ trucks in Jammu & Kashmir state, hoarding/ banners, lodging facilities for pilgrims in Jammu province, boarding facilities, transportation of yatries, security arrangements, fixing of signboard by PWD, Communication Centre at Yatri Niwas, medical facility, sanitation/ cleanliness/ mobile toilet vans, traffic arrangements, tourist Information Centre, food court, water supply arrangements, electricity, tour and travel centre, helicopter services an other yatra related arrangements were discussed in length.
The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner Jammu, Commissioner JMC, Director Tourism, Chief Engineer EM &RE Wing, DIG Jammu Kathua Range, DIG CRPF, DC Recovery Commercial Taxes, SE PHE Urban, officers from J&K Bank, R&B, PWD, Health, Traffic, Police, J&K Bank, BSNL and SRTC Departments.
