Kashmir University’s Skiing Camp at Gulmarg concludes

Srinagar, March 19: The director of Kashmir University’s Directorate of Distance Education, Prof Shafeeaq Parveen distributed prizes among the winners of the Snow Skiing Test organised during the skiing camp at Gulmarg. The event was organised from March 3 to March 16. The camp was jointly by the Directorate of Distance Education and Directorate of Physical Education of the University.

Mohammad Shafi Rather received the gold medal for securing first position while Mudasir Ahmad Kaboo and Mohammad Khubaib Dar bagged the silver and broze medals for securing the second and third positions respectively.
The final test was conducted by a committee of experts. Those present during the function included Prof Shafeeqa Parveen, Prof R L Zutshi, Guest of Honour, Dr Nissar Ahmad Rather, Incharge Director of the Physical Educaiton Department, skiing experts and instructors, and students-cum-faculty of the DDE.

Prof Parveen expressed her gratitude to the Sports Wing, Instructors of the university and coaches, including, Mr Abbas, for their cooperation and team-work. “I am happy to note that the staff and the students exhibited discipline and team spirit during the event,” she said while promising provision of infrastructural facilities for different sports activities.

Prof B L Zutshi presented momentos to the Chief Guest, Director Physical Education and Sports. The vote of thanks was presented by Dr Nahid Ruhee, Sr Assitant Professor at the DDE.
