Navratra Festival-2009 arrangements at Katra
Katra, September 08 - For the smooth conduct of Navratra Festival-2009, the District Development Commissioner, Reasi Mr. Pandurang K. Pole today convened a meeting of officers of various departments and discussed arrangements of ensuing Navratra Festival in Katra town.
Sub Divisional Magistrate, Katra Mr. Rashpal Singh, Assistant Director Tourism, Katra, President Hotel & Restaurant Association Katra Mr. Shamlal Kesar, Vice President Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra Mr. Rakesh Wazir, President Travel Association, Katra Mr. Surinder Khajuria, Members Navratra Festival Harish K. Dubey, Ajay Kotwal and Rajinder Singh Kotwal and other concerned officers were also present in the meeting.
Threadbare discussion were held on every aspects of arrangements which include uninterrupted power supply, adequate drinking water facilities, sanitation, face lifting of the town, traffic regulation and proper provision of parking.
Mr. Pole exhorted upon the officers to work with proper coordination for the grand success of Navratra’s in Katra town. He said that this year the town has witnessed heavy rush of devotees for having darshan of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji. He asked the Health department to arrange Multi Speciality Camp during the Navratra days in Katra hospital besides providing sufficient stock of medicines and ambulance facilities during Navratra Festival. He asked the health department to arrange camps and educate the devotees about the precautionary measures of swine flu in the Katra town. He asked the PHE department for proper barricading the area as per past practice.
He also directed the heads of the various departments including Handicraft, Handloom, Floriculture, Agriculture, Horticulture, Social Welfare, R&B, etc to put up the stalls of their respective departments at the identify site for the display and exhibition of their products and activities.
