Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Meets
New Delhi, September 09 - A Meeting of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board was held at New Delhi today, under the Chairmanship of the Governor,Mr. N.N.Vohra, (Chairman, SMVDSB). It was attended by the Members and senior functionaries of the Board.
The Board, while taking stock of the current trend of the Yatra, stressed the need for strengthening the infrastructure facilities for the visiting pilgrims, to ensure a smooth and comfortable pilgrimage. The Board took a number of decisions in respect of various development projects, aimed at improving the accommodation and other facilities for the Yatris. These projects, inter-alia, include, Atka-remodelling Plan, several projects for creating additional accommodation at Katra and Bhawan, sewage disposal schemes and tapping of new & renewable energy sources. Amongst other things, the Board decided to set up special accommodation and eating facilities for the Yatris who belong to the low income groups.
Shri E.Sreedharan (Director Delhi Metro), Mrs Sudha Murty (Chairperson of Infosys Foundation) and Dr. S.S. Bloeria (Ex-Chief Secretary J&K) were among the Members of the Board who participated in the discussions. From among the officers, the meeting was attended by Shri Raj Kumar Goyal, Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Addl. CEO and Shri H.L.Maini, Technical Consultant to the Board.
