Ladakh Festival Polo Cup
A Tournament was organized as part of the
15-day Ladakh Festival-2009

Leh, September 13 – The Ladakh Scouts team won the Ladakh Festival Polo Cup Tournament at the final match played at the Polo Ground, here this afternoon. The Tournament was organized as part of the 15-day Ladakh Festival-2009.

The Ladakh Scouts team won the final match by defeating the Animal Husbandry team by 4-3 goals, in a keenly played match. In the first half, the Animal Husbandry team was leading by 3-0 goals. However, in the second half, the Ladakh Scouts team displayed a better game and scored 4 goals, thus, winning the final by 4-3 goals.

The Governor, Mr. N. N. Vohra, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, gave away prizes to the winning and the runner-up teams, as well as individual prizes to the players of both the teams.

The First Lady, Mrs. Usha Vohra, Executive Councillors, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Mr. Phunchok Stanzin, Mr. Mohammed Khan and Mr. Tsering Angchok, Principal Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Raj Kumar Goyal, Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Mr. A. K. Sahu, SSP Leh, Mr. B. S. Tuti, and other Civil, Police and Army officers, prominent citizens, a large number of locals and tourists, both domestic and foreign, witnessed the final match.
