Navratra Festivals arrangements reviewed by

Jammu, September 23 - To discuss the arrangements for ensuing Navratra and Dussehra Festivals, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Mr. Manoj Kumar Dwivedi convened a meeting of senior officers and members of Navratra Festival Celebration Committee here on Thursday.
Superintendent of Police Traffic, S.P. North, Joint Commissioner JMC, Deputy Director CAPD, ARTO and Dy. SP Security attended the meeting. Tourism Department is making special arrangements for the upcoming festivals of Navratra and Dussehra to attract the pilgrim tourists from across the country, the meeting was told.
Giving details of the events at Jammu during Navratra Days, it was apprised that the main programme include Heritage Walk, Daily evening Aarti at Har-Ki-Poudi. The Akhnoor Fort and River Front will be illuminated during the Navratra festival.
It was decided that Joint Commissioner JMC and Health Officer, Jammu shall ensure sanitation, while PHE department was asked to make available 24 hour water supply at the main venues for the convenience of the devotees.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed Power Department to ensure proper lighting arrangements in addition to un-interrupted power supply to all the temples in Jammu city. The department was also asked to ensure adequate power supply during the festival days.
The Deputy Commissioner Jammu asked the concerned departments to make adequate medical facilities, adequate security arrangements and provision for extra transportation for the convenience of the people during the festival days.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the main aim of organizing the Navratra and Dussehra festivals is to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Jammu region and all the steps have been taken by the administration and the organizers of the festival to make the event a grant success.
