Policy on Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Promotion Campaign
Jammu, December 20 – The Jammu & Kashmir Government is contemplating to launch a tourism promotional campaign to showcase the potential tourist spots and tourism related activities of the state to attract the world tourists.
For the purpose a comprehensive policy would be framed for producing promotional films and taking up other media campaigns.
The decision to this effect was taken at a high level meeting of Tourism department chaired by the Minister for Tourism and Culture, Jammu & Kashmir, here today
As a sequel to its endeavours to promote tourism, the department would produce promotional films for initiating media campaign. A comprehensive policy will be chalked out in this regard with the provisions for consulting leading advertisement companies, the meeting decided.
Secretary Tourism & Culture, Special Secretary Tourism & Culture, Director Tourism, Jammu, Financial Advisor Tourism and other senior officers attended the meeting.
To make the policy more effective and innovative, the Minister directed the concerned authorities to consult the reputed agencies of the country like advertisers of Incredible India and other companies who have a niche in the promotion of tourism. He also asked them to seek advice from Tourism Department of Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh which have already launched a massive campaign for promoting the tourism of their respective states. He instructed to ensure that the assignment is completed at the earliest so that the people around the world could get the true picture of the varied tourism potential of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Minister said that the state is blessed with abundant natural splendor which the government is tapping in the right perspective by developing new destinations, besides creating latest tourism infrastructural conveniences for the domestic and foreign visitors. “The adventure, pilgrim and sports tourism are also the focus area of the government as these sectors have tremendous scope in Jammu & Kashmir state”, he added.
The Minister asked the officers to ensure quality formulation of the calendar for 2011 depicting the enchanted grandeur of tourism spots, especially religious and adventurous, of the state which will also work as publicity tool to promote tourism. |
