Mata Vaishno Devi Helicopter Fare for Katra-Sanjichhat reduced

Jammu (Jammu & Kashmir), March 31, 2017 - Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) announced that the Helicopter fare for Katra-Sanjichhat, from April 1, 2017 onwards, would be Rs. 1077/- (inclusive of taxes) as against previous fare of Rs.1170/- per passenger (inclusive of taxes).

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) SMVDSB stated that after pursuing an entirely transparent bidding process the one-way passenger fare for Helicopter travel between Katra and Sanjichhat will be Rs. 1077/- (inclusive of taxes) as against the previous fare of Rs. 1170/- per passenger (inclusive of taxes).

The new rates will be applicable from April 1, 2017.

CEO informed that the contract has been awarded to the two successful bidders i.e. M/s Global Vectra Helicorp Ltd. and M/s Himalayan Heli Services Pvt. Ltd. for operation of Helicopter Services in the Katra-Sanjichhat-Katra Sector. These two operators have been providing Helicopter Services to the pilgrims for the past three years (2014-17).

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has been taking many initiatives in an effort to provide better services to the pilgrims visiting the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra J&K and reduced Helicopter cost is one such welcome step in this direction.

It going to benefit a large number of pilgrims who take Helicopter Service as an alternate to travelling the tracking route of 13 KMs. Especially the devotees who cannot track mountainous route because of health or age, this reduction in the Helicopter Fare would be a welcome step.
